I simply put Project Zan VS Project Nim as my title because I would like to talk about the differences between both projects. We read half brother and watched Project Nim not to long ago and the differences between the book and the movie were unbelievable not to mention that some of it was very true. I think when Kenneth Oppel wrote the book that he found very good details about the real Project Nim and thought he would use some of these things in his book. The movie was a little bit more violent and true because Nim wasnt exactly the same as Zan. Nim did drugs and he drank alchol but Zan was more of a human baby and he acted more like it too unlike Nim. Zan seemed to know less words than Nim and he also seemed more calm at the points where Nim would have gone and lost his head. Like when Zan had been bit on the ear by Richard. If Herb bit Nim on the ear Nim would have gone apemode and attacked Herb. When Bill came into the movie I just knew who he was I was like “Thats Peter” and it was, him and Peter were so much alike it was scary. Laura was like Ben’s mother, Ben’s mother loved Zan just as much as Laura loved Nim. I’ve learnt from this experiments though that raising a chimp in thought is easier than raising a chimp in real life. Project Zan started off where Zan was all cute until about a year but during Project Nim he was in and out of that face almost instantaneously. All and all I would never imagine doing a project like this, it would cost lots and would just be really hard to get funding for if they got such little amounts just like in both experiments they started to run out of funding and could not keep going with how little the chimps made their sentences. Nim said stuff like Stone Smoke Now. That is not complete grammar therefore it is true that you cannot teach a chimp full sign language in proper grammar. Although I hate to say this it is true that money was wasted on Project Zan(The Book) and Project Nim( The Documentary ) I wish I could say different but as in both exact project Zan and Nim both just copied how their teachers signed.

This are just my thoughts on both projects.

Hey guys so my class and the class from wingham have been doing a book called Half brother. Its about boy named Ben and his chimp brother Zan and a project his family is doing with Zan. Ben didnt like Zan at first but throughout the book things changed and Zan started to grow on Ben. Ben also like this girl named Jennifer. Shes 14 and she cant go out until shes 16. Ben made a logbook on how to Wooo Jennifer. Not many of those ideas worked but it still worked out in the end. We recently read a chapter titled The Learning Chair where Bens dad Richard thinks strapping Zan in a chair would force him to read. The boy named Peter that goes to the college as Richard thinks putting Zan in the chair is cruelty against Zan. Peter was taking off the project so he can think if he wants to resign or stay with it. Peter says that Zan is brought up in slavery and is merely a project. When Ben hears this he starts to think if he is being a hypocrite because he eats meat and doesnt mind killing animals. Now for one i dont feel Zan is really being brought up in slavery as much as he is being brought up in science. I feel that the chair problem is wrong and they shouldnt do it even if they feel he is not a person because Zan has thumbs feelings and can communicate doesnt mean hes human but i feel he has the characteristics of one. Now for two I feel Ben is not a hypocrite. He is not the one killing the animals but he is the one eating them. Thats not being a hypocrite thats him liking certain foods and its alright. My thoughts on animal testing are that its not good for the animals because they get injected with diseases and such. I dont feel bad about it just for the fact that im not the one doing it so i dont feel that its my fault that those chimps sadly die because of beauty products and cures for diseases. About 1000 chimps or more died in 2007 for Chimp testing in the United States is a true fact. Some of the chimps tested on lived after testing is a false piece of information. In a way i feel bad about animal testing but it also helps us the humans if we have diseases. I hope you can all give me some feedback in the comments. Thank you so much for reading

I learned that animals mostly chimps are tested on every year. Over a thousand are tested and right after testing they are killed by the testers. I know that chimps have closest DNA makeup to humans and that they are also stronger than a human. I also know that wild chimps are the most dangerous of chimps because they were raised in the wild and being sepperated from family makes these chimp mad. Chimps that are born and raised in zoo’s have a less chance of being as violent as wild chimps.

I dont know much else about chimpanzee’s because thats most of the things i researched for.

So our school is hosting sports for all teams in our area. I decided i would sign up for mascot. Now heres the thing i dont know exactly what im suppose to do as a mascot because last time i did it was 2 years ago when Volley Ball was one of our games and i wasnt on yet. If you can leave me some quick tips on how to be a good mascot that would be helpful. Well now that  that is said i will be goin back to posting on forums.

Hey guys! Now I know i havent posted in awhile and thats because of our classes working on a project about a chimp who was given a human life for an experiment. This experiment was called Project Nim. Nim was adopted by a human family as a baby and they wanted to see what it would be like for a chimpanzee to have a human life. During this project i had to find pictures. I never found any good pictures most were small and blurry before they were stretched and since I knew that wouldnt be the best to use for the presentation i never really brought it up.

But since i started working with Jaydin, Tyler, Mellisa and Erin we have gotten lots of fantastic work done i just wish i had done more to help. We are still in the finishing process of this so i may actually be able to find a good picture or two but who knows.

We used google docs presentation for this assignment and it was fun until the Docs presentation got updated and we could use a chat room while using the presentation so we restarted. My group was excellent we only had arguments on maybe a stretched out pic or two but we still managed to work it out.

I think this has been the best group ive ever done a project with. Although we are not finished yet we expect to have it done fairly soon.

The presentation consists of facts about animal testing. Why are chimps usually used? Why is there still animal testing? Do they know how many animals they use a year to test and how many may die from this? We Find out the answers shortly and once we are done our project i will release these answers to you, my readers.
