Is Zan a person?What defines a person?

A person is a human being distinguished from animal or thing. According to this definition Zan is not a person, but I would feel Zan a person because he can ‘talk’, is loved, has a family, and has opposable thumbs. Zan is not human but can be treated as if he were. I would also call a Orange/Great Orangutan a human because of its intelligence.I understand how Ben thinks of Zan as human. Ben and his dad were arguing about it and i would be on Bens side.Chimps can be very helpful and kind but cabe agressive if not treated properly or are being protective.Chimps have great memory and are very smart and funny.

Scientists have many different ways to teach chimps. There are tests, games and many other ways of teaching. These tests are ment to teach sighn language, test memory and many other skills. They are very fun to watch and learn about chimps. It is amazing how good there memory. Scientist can bun the numbers 1-9 on a touch screen for a split second and shade them with white and the chimp will do alot better then a human can. The chimp will tap them in order with a time limit about 5 seconds and the chimp will get them in order almost EVERY TIME!! The human usaually will run out of time or do the wronge order. The thing I dont get is people think that is not person.

People say chimps are not person and then they give it medicins to see if they are safe to use. If the medicins have the same effects on chimps wouldnt they pretty much be the same as us. I think since it effects them the same way it effects us they should be person.

Why dont we switch lives with chimps. If you were a chimp, would you say your a person? I think that is a fair way to put this. Chimps feel in danger because how we treat them, I,d say that we  make them aggressive and we show them little respect, so we desserve it when they are aggressive.

Chimps are like our close ansesters, they are just way, way, hairier. They have the same abilitys we have but cannot speak. They can talk, but not speak. They can talk with sign language and learn very fast and will somtimes have trouble with words.

Our task was to work in a group to find research on poaching.We put everything on a document and then when we had it all planed out we put it on a presentation. We used many links and that was useful because it saved us a lot of time.

Our group worked good together we helped each other when we had trouble finding research and images. We agreed on what to do we chose the question to do and job to do (images, research, and organizing).

I think our group will do well on the presentation because we are very organized. We have everything in the right place so we are not confused what to say. Our speaker notes are ready and neat.

My passion is being outside. I love to hunt and fish I like to fish and hunt for deer, moose, grouse, perch, walleye, and trout. I also love to go quading and skidoing were it is slipery and you slide all over. being outside is the best thing ever!!!!
